Unpaid Item Policy
For standard ads
You as the seller should not give, lend or send items or mark items as sold until you have received payment from the buyer. If you receive inquires regarding an item that you have sold but are awaiting payment for, you must explain this situation to any potential buyers who contact you. After the time period for non-payment expires as per the sunset clause in the rules for sellers document, at the seller’s discretion only, the sale can become null and void and you may negotiate with any potential buyer. In order to give the buyer some grace you must contact the buyer after the expiration time of the sunset clause and give them 24 hours to submit payment. It is a buyer’s obligation to pay for any item that they have agreed to purchase, however, under some circumstances the buyer may renege on this obligation, therefore, we have added a sunset clause to the rules for sellers documents which become part of the user agreement.

For Auctions
Note: This section applies to auctions that have closed and the reserve price has been met.

You as the seller should not give, lend or send an item sold at auction to a buyer before receiving payment.

If you have not received payment for an item sold at auction after three (3) days you should contact the buyer. If the buyer does not respond within 24 hours or you cannot come to some agreement with the buyer you can report an unpaid item by going to My Axebay -> Activity and clicking on the report an unpaid item link on the left hand side of the page under related links and follow the instructions.

You can only report an unpaid item for auctions:
  • You must have tried to contact the buyer before reporting an unpaid item.
  • You must supply the item id.
  • Refrain from rating the buyer until the dispute is resolved.

If you report an unpaid item:

  1. Axebay will check the auction results.
  2. Axebay will attempt to contact the buyer for you.
  3. If we are able to contact the buyer and with the buyer’s consent, we will make you aware of the buyer’s intentions.
  4. If we are unable to contact the buyer, Axebay will allow you to re-run your listing for up to two weeks past its original expiration.

Under our privacy policy we are not obliged to give you any details about the buyer or offer any information about our investigation into an unpaid item dispute.
